The Florida State Elks Association is recognized as a premier relevant and impactful organization.
It is essential that we maintain the strategic approach that has brought us this far.
Continuing our mission and reaching our goals will expand the Elks impact on children, veterans and their families, for many years to come.
Visibility & Accessibility
Touching the ground in all 14 districts and 40% of our lodges is a crucial step in beginning and building support and identifying opportunities in this first year. I will create travel plans to visit districts and lodge locations throughout year one, utilizing available weekends & evenings as needed. Video interviews & photo ops for social media.
Retention & New Member Monthly
Establish in my weekly tasks, a time to call the past month’s new members (one touch) to welcome them and audit how they learned about the Elks, their experiences so far, and to ask what they are most interested in/attracted to as a new Elk.
Year One Goals
Meet the People
In order to build upon ideas, solutions, and opportunities, my goal is to develop relationships with a variety of folks in the field and internally. This way I can learn about member experiences and have sources for bad news or criticism. This will also be a way to build support for new initiatives.
Bylaws & Manuals
Ensure that bylaws and manuals are on hand during all Elks meetings and events. Most lodge issues can be managed by using these documents.
I commit to using these resources myself as a measure of quality assurance when advising members.
Best Practice Resource Library
When lodges discover solutions to common issues, a short personalized podcast or video (interview style) is created and added to the library. A link to the resource library will be published in the monthly newsletter.
Elks5050.org Electronic Raffle
Launch a charitable 50/50 State Association electronic raffle. 50% goes to the raffle winner, 40% goes to the state association, and 10% goes to the member’s lodge. If winner is not a member they will get the choice of an Elks initiative for the 10% to go to.
